Denver Hotel Conservation Efforts Paying Off

The Holiday Inn Denver Lakewood has been busy. Not only have they spent the past 2 years making dramatic changes in the hotels' physical appearance, they've also made major strides in their conservation efforts. Here are some of the amazing results:
  • Electricity: Hotel has reduced electric consumption by 184,320 kwh in 2008 v 2007
  • Natural Gas: Hotel has reduced natural gas consumption by 1,500 therms in 2008 v 2007
  • Carbon Dioxide: As a result of the Electric and Natural Gas conservation noted, we reduced our carbon footprint by 174.2 tons
  • Water: Hotel reduced water consumption by 547,000 gallons in 2008 vs 2007

* In 2009 we are on track to consume substantially less than in 2008 in all categories.

This Denver hotel is setting the 'green' standard for hotels in Denver and throughout Colorado. Guests who stay with the Holiday Inn Denver Lakewood not only get a warm, inviting (and new) hotel with exceptional service -- but can feel good that their host is making every effort at reducing the impact of the hotel operation on the environment.
